Questions

Cocktails & bar: your questions answered

Can't see yours? Read all FAQs or message us on WhatsApp.

01

What time does the bar close?

Pink Elephant is open every day from 8.30am until midnight, and cocktails are served through the evening until we close. It makes an easy last stop after dinner elsewhere in Unawatuna, or a place to settle in for the whole night.

02

What cocktails do you make?

Guests often mention the Arrack Attack, made with Sri Lankan arrack, the frozen mango daiquiri and the Long Island iced tea. The bar also makes a pink watermelon cocktail in a martini glass and a fresh lime and mint cooler with cucumber.

03

Can I order cocktails on a Poya day?

No. Sri Lankan law does not allow alcohol to be sold on Poya days, the full-moon public holidays each month, so the bar cannot serve alcohol then. Fresh juices, lime and mint coolers and alcohol-free fruit drinks are still on offer. If you are planning a night out, check the Poya calendar first.

04

Do you have non-alcoholic drinks?

Yes. The bar makes fresh lime and mint coolers, fruit juices and soft drinks, and can make most fruit cocktails without alcohol on request. Just ask your server what fresh fruit is available that day and they will suggest something.
